In Assam, today is the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers for the second phase of polls. 64 constituencies of Central and Lower Assam will go to polls in this phase of on 11th of next month. Altogether 537 candidates filed their nominations for this phase.’On the other hand, the anti-talk faction of banned outfit ULFA postponed its proposed Assam bandh on Monday. Meanwhile, electioneering for first phase of polling has slowly gained momentum.
