India and China today resolved the stand-off at the Ladakh border. The withdrawal of troops will begin today and will be completed by the month end. The breakthrough came at a bilateral meeting of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in New York.
Describing the decision on the timeline for withdrawal of troops as a big accomplishment, Ms. Swaraj said, the troops of both countries will return to their positions as of the 1st of this month.
She said, the border stand-off issue did cast some shadow on Chinese President Xi Jingping's visit to New Delhi even though it was very historical and gave very good outcomes. She said, the bad phase will be over soon.
