With 13 Gold, 23 Silver and 15 Bronze, India at fifth spot in Glasgow Commonwealth Games medals tally

In the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, pugilists Vijender Singh, Manpreet Jangra, Devendro Laishram and Laishram Devi will be vying for top honours when they play their final bouts today. All of them advanced to the finals Friday assuring four Silver medals for India in Boxing. Pinki Rani bagged India's first medal of these Games in Boxing Friday when she won the Bronze in the 48-51 kg category.In Athletics, the Indian team, comprising Tintu Lukka, Poovamma M., Ashwini Akkunji and Debashree Mazumdar will figure in the Women's 4X400 metres Relay finals, with Ravinder Singh Khaira and Vipin Kasana in Javelin Throw, and Arpinder Singh in Triple Jump also battling it out for a medal.In Squash, the pair of Dipika Pallikal and Joshana Chinappa will be seen in action in the Women's Doubles finals today.In Badminton, PV Sindhu, P. Kashyap and RMV Gurusaidutt in the Singles, and the duo of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa in the Women's Doubles will look to seal the final berths.In Table Tennis, Achanta Sharath Kamal will play in the semi-finals.The Men's Hockey semi-finals will also be played today. India will play New Zealand. All India Radio will broadcast live commentary on the match from 4:40 PM onwards. Captain Sardar Singh will not be a part of this semi-final as the Midfielder has been suspended following his second dangerous offence in the tournament in the last game. In the other semi-final, Australia will meet England.With 13 Gold, 23 Silver and 15 Bronze, India is at the fifth spot in the medals tally. England is at the top, followed by Australia at second, Canada at third and Scotland at the fourth position.
