The two day Winter Session of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly came to an end on Wednesday. The House unanimously passed the Sikkim Lokayukt Bill without discussion on the concluding day of the Session, paving the way for appointment of the first ever Lokayukt in the State.Two Amendment Bills were also passed unanimously passed by the House the without discussion on the concluding day of the Session . All the three Bills were introduced by the Chief Minister, also the Minister-in-Charge of Law Department, Mr. Pawan Chamling on the first day of the Session on Tuesday.The Swearing-in-Ceremony of the two first ever Parliamentary Secretaries was also held at the Assembly on Wednesday. The Chief Minister Mr. Pawan Chamling administered the Oath of Office and Secrecy to the Khamdong-Singtam MLA Mr Am Prasad Sharma as the Parliamentary Secretary for Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department and the Namchi-Singithang MLA Mr. Binod Rai, as the Parliamentary Secretary for Social Justice, Empowerment and Welfare Department. The two will be in the rank of a Minister of State and will be assisting the concerned Ministers in their day-to -day work.
