The winter session of Parliament is beginning from today. Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu held a meeting with all political parties in New Delhi last evening to ensure smooth functioning of the session. Briefing reporters after the meeting, Mr Naidu said that during the meeting, leaders of 26 political parties, except Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party, were present. He said, the government presented the list of Bills to be taken in the winter session. He added that some of the leaders also suggested some important issues relating to public interest, which should be discussed in the House. Mr Naidu also said, during the meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, government has no problem in discussing any issue in Parliament whether it was raised by the opposition or any other members.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that his party will raise the issue of Black Money, drought, Women reservation Bill in the session.
The winter session will continue upto 23rd of next month and it will have 22 sittings. Some important bills, which may be taken up during the session, are Insurance Laws Amendment Bill, Coal Mine Special Provisions Bill, Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Bill, Labour Laws Amendment Bill, Real Estate Regulation and Development Bill.
