The Goa Governor Dr. Shivinder Singh Sidhu today called upon the members of the state Legislative Assembly to support the endeavour of his government for making the state a better, prosperous and progressive one. Making his customary address on the opening day of the five day winter session of the state assembly Dr. Singh expressed satisfaction that inspire of the global slowdown, the economy of the state has done well in all spheres and has achieved a respectable GSDP growth rate of 13.03% at constant prices, which is well above 9.46% achieved during the previous year. Attributing this to the concerted efforts of all the arms of the government the Governor said this growth trend must continue in bringing prosperity and happiness in the lives of the people in the state.
