The 22nd WINTER OLYMPICS start at Sochi, Russia today. Around 2500 athletes will take part in 98 disciplines in the games that will last upto 23rd of this Month. Shiva Keshwan, Himanshu Thakur and Nadeem Ikbal will represent India in the Winter Olympics. Sixty five heads of state and government and international organizations are expected to attend the Winter Olympics, being staged in Russia in the first time.Meanwhile the last bearer of the 22nd Winter Olympics Torch, volunteer Igor Biryukov, crossed the finish line in Sochi today in what brings to an end the 2014 Olympic Torch Relay. The Olympic Cauldron is due to be lit at the city Fisht Olympic Stadium as part of the opening ceremony for the Games tonight at 20:14 Moscow time. The Olympic flag with five rings symbolising the unity of athletes around the world will be hoisted and the Olympic flame will be lit.
