Winners of 'Swachhathon' awarded today

The winners of Swachhathon – the Swachh Bharat Hackathon, to crowd source solutions pertaining to Sanitation and Hygiene were awarded in New Delhi today. Ministers of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation, S S Ahluwalia and Ramesh Jigajinagi gave away the award. <br/><br/>The Hackathon received a massive response from across the country, with more than three thousand entries received overall. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ahluwalia said, the Swachathon is a new concept adopted by the Ministry because linking government programmes with technology is the need of the hour. The Minister said the initiatives like the Swachhathon will go a long way in increasing involvement of innovators and the youth in the programme. <br/>Mr Jigajinagi spoke about the need for innovative approaches to take the Swachhta movement forward in the country. He expressed hope that the ideas coming out of the Swachhathon would help lend innovation and renewed vigour to this citizens' movement.
