Normal life in Kashmir valley is affected since last evening due to a wind storm. The high speed winds blowed roofs of nearly five thousand houses and damaged scores of buildings and houses substantially. One person died and another got injured. The administration had today closed all educational institutions as a precaution. People's movement and essential services like power supply remained disrupted. Authorities have begun assessing the losses caused to the property and to the Horticulture sector.The state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has air-dashed to Srinagar to take stock of the situation caused by the storm.
