In the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, seven-time winner Roger Federer will begin his campaign today. Third seed Federer, who is aiming a record eighth Wimbledon title, will take on Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine. Federer currently shares the record for the most number of Wimbledon titles – 7 – with Pete Sampras and William Renshaw. Federer already has to his name a Men's record of 18 Grand Slam Singles titles. He had won the Australian Open, the first major of the season, earlier this year.Besides Federer, world number two Novak Djokovic will play his first round match against Martin Klizan of Slovakia. In Women's Singles opening round, world number one Angelique Kerber will face Irina Falconi of the United States.Third seed Karolina Pliskova, Agnieszka Radwanska, Milos Raonic and Tomas Berdych are also among those who will be seen in action in the first round today.Yesterday, world number one and local favourite Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal, second seed Simona Halep and Venus Williams entered the second round.
