Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna have advanced to the Doubles Quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. However, the Indo-Canadian pair of Leander Paes and Daniel Nestor bowed out losing in the third round. In London today, the top-seeded Indo-Swiss pair of Sania and Martina Hingis stormed into the women's doubles quarterfinals by defeating16th seeded Spanish team of Anabel Medina Garrigues and Arantxa Parra Santonja 6-4 6-3 in just 66 minutes. In Men's Doubles, the Indo-Romanian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea overcame the combination of Belarusian Max Mirnyi and Poland's Lukasz Kubot in four sets, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6, 7-6.In the Women's Singles, 20-time Grand Slam champion and top seed Serena Williams entered the quarter-finals with a 6-4, 6-3 win over her 35-year old elder sister Venus Williams. Fourth seeded Russian Maria Sharapova also made it to the last eight stage with a 6-4, 6-4 victory against Zarina Diyas of Kazakhstan.
