Wimbledon: Roger Federer takes on Marin Cilic, Andy Murray faces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in quarter finals

Seven times champion Swiss Tennis star Roger Federer will take on ninth-seeded Marin Cilic in the quarter final of men's singles in Wimbledon today. British star Andy Murray will also face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in another quarterfinal match at centre court in London. Federer will equal Jimmy Connors' record of 11 Wimbledon semi-final appearances if he advances to the semi-finals. Novak Djokovic's early shock exit has boosted the hopes of both Murray and Federer to win the title.In Women's singles, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Angelique Kerber and Elena Vesnina have entered the semi-finals. Five-time champion Venus Williams reached the Wimbledon semi-finals for the first time since 2009 with victory over Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova yesterday. Serena defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 in another quarter-final match.Meanwhile, top seeded Indo-Croatian pair of Sania Mirza and Ivan Dodig crashed out of the mixed doubles event after losing to unseeded British duo of Neal Skupski and Anna Smith 6-4, 3-6, 5-7 at the Wimbledon yesterday.
