At the Wimbledon tennis championships, the Indo-Canadian pair of Leander Paes and Daniel Nestor has entered the second round of the Men's Doubles. In London today, the 11th seeded pair quelled the challenge from the Serbian duo of Victor Troicki and Dusan Lajovic in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in an hour and 42 minutes. However, the combination of India's Purav Raja and his French team-mate Fabrice Martin bowed out losing in four sets against the 2012 Wimbledon champions Jonathan Marray and Frederik Nielson.In Men's Singles, defending champion Novak Djokovic reached the third round with a win over Jarkko Nieminen of Finland in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-3. Fifth seed K. Nishikori of Japan withdrew from the competition due to an injury. In the Women's Singles, Russian Maria Sharapova advanced to the next round defeating Richel Hogenkamp of Holland in straight sets.
