In the first round match his opponent Martin Klizan of Slovakia, got retired hurt, when Djokovic was leading 6-3, 2-0. In the Women's Singles, top seed Angelique Kerber of Germany also advanced to the second round, beating Irina Falconi of the United States in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
