Russia's Maria Sharapova will take on Czech left-hander Petra Kvitova in the women's singles final of the Wimbledon Tennis championships in London in a short while from now. Fifth seeded Sharapova is bidding to add a second Wimbledon title to her grand slam collection. She last claimed the grass court prize in 2004 when she was just 17.Twenty-one year old Kvitova is appearing in a Grand Slam final for the first ime. She is also the first left-hander to make the final at the All England Club since Martina Navratilova did it in 1990.In the Mixed Doubles semi-finals, the Indo-Russian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Elena Vesnina will meet the combination of Australian Paul Hanley and Su-Wei Hsieh of Taipeh.The men's doubles final is also slated for today.
