Wimbledon: Frances Tiafoe stuns Stefanos Tsitsipas in first round

In Tennis, American Frances Tiafoe stunned No.3 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 in the first round of Wimbledon tournament. Tiafoe notched a stunning victory over Tsitsipas in the first round as he defeated the Greek No.3 seed in three straight sets.
 
Earlier, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic eased into the second round of the tournament as he defeated British wild card Jack Draper, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2. Djokovic returned to Centre Court 715 days on since lifting the Wimbledon in 2019. The reigning champion's pursuit of a third consecutive Wimbledon title kicked off with a stylish win. Djokovic could next run into world No. 5 Kevin Anderson, who faces Chilean qualifier Marcelo Tomas Barrios Vera.
 
In women's singles, American Sloane Stephens won the battle of Grand Slam winners against twice Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, ousting the Czech 10th seed from the All England Club with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. The 2017 Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza of Spain and Belarusian No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka also advanced to the second round.
 
While Garbine thrashed Fiona Ferro of France, 6-0, 6-1, Aryna beat Romanian qualifier Monica Niculescu 6-1, 6-4. The 27-year-old Garbine will next face qualifier Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove.
