Meanwhile, other top seeds, Spain's World Number 1 Rafael Nadal, Serb Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray of Great Britain have advanced to the semi-finals of the event. On Thursday, Maria Sharapova of Russia will play Germany's Sabine Lisicki while Victoria Azarenka of Belarus will clash with Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic, in the semi-finals of the Ladies Singles event.
