Wimbledon: Angelique Kerber, Rafael Nadal make shocking pre-quarterfinal exits

In Tennis, world number one Angelique Kerber and Rafael Nadal have made shocking pre-quarterfinal exits from the Wimbledon Championships, the third Grand Slam of the season, in London. While Kerber lost to 14th seed Garbine Muguruza of Spain, fourth seed Nadal, who recently won the French Open, was stunned by 16th placed Gilles Muller, in a five-setter, with the Luxembourger winning the marathon final set, 15-13.Nadal, the 15-time major champion, came back from two sets down, but failed to win back-to-back French Open and Wimbledon titles for a joint-record third time.Seven-time winner Roger Federer reached his 50th Grand Slam quarter-final, with top seed and British defending champion Andy Murray making it to the Wimbledon last-8 for the 10th consecutive time.Second seed Simona Halep, Venus Williams and Milos Raonic also made it to the quarterfinals, while Caroline Wozniacki, Agnieszka Radwanska and Victoria Azarenka bowed out.In Women's Doubles, Sania Mirza made an exit in the pre-quarterfinals after losing to her former team-mate Martina Hingis.Sania and her Croatian team-mate Ivan Dodig will play for a Mixed Doubles quarter-final berth today. They will be up against the British-Finn team of Heather Watson and Henri Kontinen.
