Serena and Venus Williams, German Angelique Kerber and Elena Vesnina have entered the semi-finals of women's singles of Wimbledon. In a quarter final match, Kerber defeated Romania's Simona Halep 7-5, 7-6 to reach her second semi-final. In another quarter final match, Venus Williams got the better of Kazakhastan's Yaroslava Shvedova 7-6, 6-2. In the semis, Kerber will meet Venus Williams. In the other semis, Serena Williams will meet Elena Vesnina. Serena defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 in a quarter-final match. Elena Vesnina downed Dominika Cibulkova in another quarter-final match. Vesnina beat Cibulkova 6-2, 6-2. Sania Mirza and her Croatian partner Ivan Dodig today bowed out of Mixed doubles in the second round of the Wimbledon. The duo lost to the pair of Germany's Neil Skupsk and Britain's Anna Smith 6-4, 3-6, 5-7. In Men's Singles, Tomas Berdych won a five-set match against Czech compatriot Jiri Vesely 4-6, 6-3, 7- 6,7-9, 6-3 victory today, completing the Wimbledon men's quarter-final lineup after their match was suspended overnight in fading light. They had left the contest level when the umpire called time. Berdych will play 22-year-old Frenchman Lucas Pouille, seeded 32, in the last eight.
