The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today said it would remain an ally of the ruling coalition at the Centre.

Talking to reporters at Mumbai airport after his arrival from Delhi with NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Mr Patel said the NCP was a part of the UPA and would remain so. He dismissed suggestions that the NCP was resorting to pressure tactics.

Pawar did not speak to the media.
