The Odisha Government today said it will not bow down to the pressure of Maoists for release of abducted Biju Janata Dal MLA Jhina Hikaka. Odisha Home Secretary, Upendra Nath Behera, told our correspondent that the government is ready to withdraw prosecution against 13 persons including five Maoists presently lodged in different jails. Besides, he said the government has already assured the Maoists to release 25 of the 29 prisoners on bail. He said seven members of the Maoist-backed Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha had applied for bail with five being granted it. Behera however, rejected the demand of the Maoists to withdraw prosecution against all the 29 prisoners. Meanwhile, the Andhra Odisha Border Zonal Committee of CPI (Maoist), says a final decision on the MLA would be taken by 25th of this month after holding a 'People's Court'.
