International Cricket Council President and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association Club Chief N. Srinivasan has said that the club is ready to lift ban on the entry of dhoti-clad men after a stern warning by state Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Mr Srinivasan said the club will respect the advice given by the Chief Minister on the issue.Ms. Jayalalithaa took up the issue after various political parties raised the issue in the State Assembly.In a suo motu statement in the Assembly yesterday, the Chief Minister said a new law will be enacted to enable dhoti-clad men to enter aristocratic clubs in the city. She said the new law will ensure cancellation of license if the clubs continue with their practice of denying entry to dhoti-clad men.
