Sahara India has assured the Supreme Court that it will deposit a substantial amount out of 20,000 crore rupees of investors' money this month and the rest later. The apex court agreed to consider Sahara's proposal and asked it to brief the Securities and Exchange Board of India, SEBI about it.
Sahara also pleaded that its Chief Subrata Roy and two other directors be sent to police custody from judicial custody. Sahara sought police custody for Roy and two other Directors on the ground that there are problems getting access to them in judicial custody.
