WikiLeaks founder arrested in Britain

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been arrested in Britain after an international warrant was issued for him last week. London's Metropolitan Police said Swedish prosecutors issued the arrest order for the Australian who is wanted on suspicion of committing sexual crimes, which he denies. The latest warrant came as WikiLeaks continued to release more than 250,000 US diplomatic cables, which has left world leaders scrambling to deal with the fallout. Assange, 39, an Australian citizen was due to appear at Westminster court later in the day. A lawyer representing Assange, Mark Stephens said has not been charged with anything. A full hearing of his extradition case will have to be heard within 28 days.In Sweden, a WikiLeaks spokesman called for action against those who have attacked Assange. He said there have been death threats to his life and incitement to murder.
