Widespread rainfall in Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana

Widespread rain lashed most parts of Punjab and Haryana following which the minimum temperature rose in the region. In Haryana, while Karnal received 2.8 mm of rain, Chandigarh recorded a rainfall of 2.6 mm. In Punjab, one mm rainfall was recorded at Amritsar and 0.7 mm at Ludhiana. Patiala was drenched by 5.1 mm of rains. The minimum temperatures hovered between one to four degrees Celsius above normal in the region. Patiala was coldest in the region with a low of 6.4 degrees Celsius. Among other places, Ludhiana settled at a low of 6.7 degrees Celsius, followed by seven degrees Celsius each at Narnaul and Gurgaon. While Amritsar had a low of 7.2 degrees Celsius, four notches above normal, the minimum temperature at Chandigarh was 8.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
