Widening the scope of Shagun Scheme, meant only for the marriages of girls of scheduled castes, earlier, the Punjab Govt. has now taken backward classes, economically backward families and girls from Christian families also under its ambit. The scheme provides a financial benefit of 15,000 rupees.
