AIR West Asia correspondent reports, the news of UAE’s support for India’s bid for permanent membership in the UN Security Council has been given wide coverage in today's newspapers in the United Arab Emirates. Leading daily, “Gulf news” giving prominence to the meeting of Indian and UAE president, says, UAE backs India’s bid for UN Security Council seat. Another daily ‘National’ quoting UAE President Sheikh Khalifa in its lead item says, ‘Khalifa supports India's UN bid.’Prominent English daily ‘Khaleej Times’ and leading Arabic daily Al khaleej have reported the UAE President as saying that India has a big role to play for peace. The papers say that UAE President Sheikh Khalifa stresses the role of India in achieving security and stability in the Indian Ocean and East Asia. All newspapers published from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah have also published photographs along with news items of the meeting of Indian and UAE President on the front page of their today’s editions.
