Wholesale price Inflation eased to 33.9 percent in oct

Falling for the second straight month, wholesale price inflation eased to 3.39 per cent in October this year, as prices of food articles softened. Wholesale price-based inflation had stood at 3.57 percent in September this year, and minus 3.7 per cent in October last year. Overall wholesale food inflation dropped to 4.34 per cent in October this year. Wholesale price inflation in vegetables saw deflationary pressure, and stood at minus 9.97 per cent in October. Inflation in onions was minus 65.97 per cent. But wholesale inflation in pulses was 21.8 per cent in October, according to Commerce Ministry data. Inflation in potatoes stood at 60.58 per cent. And wholesale inflation in manufactured articles rose slightly, to 2.67 per cent in October.
