Wholesale Price Index-based inflation remained in the negative zone for the 16th straight month, at minus 0.91 per cent in February. This was because food articles, mainly vegetables, turned cheaper. Wholesale price inflation was minus 0.9 percent in January this year, and minus 2.17 percent in February last year. Food inflation fell to 3.35 per cent in February, from 6.02 per cent in January, official data showed. Inflation in pulses fell to 38.84 per cent, and in onions to minus 13.22 percent. Inflation in vegetables was minus 3.34 percent. Inflation in potatoes was minus 6.28 percent. Inflation print in the fuel and power segment stood at minus 6.4 percent, and in manufactured products at minus 0.58 per cent in February.
