Human Resource Development minister Prakash Javadekar today said 59 Kendriya Vidyalayas have been started in last 3 years and 50 new have been sanctioned. <br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on the achievements of his ministry in last three years, Mr Javadekar said, 62 new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya also have been sanctioned. <br/><br/>He said, standard 10 exams now have been made compulsory. Mr Javadekar said, 2017-18 will be zero year for opening up new B. Ed. colleges as there has been mushrooming of B. Ed. colleges in the past. <br/><br/>Highlighting the standards of Navodaya Vidyalaya students, the minister said, 481 Navodaya vidyalaya students have been admitted to IITs last year and it is a good success story of government schools.
