The World Health Organisation and Pharmaceutical Industry have been criticised for their handling of last year's Swine Flu pandemic. At a hearing of Council of Europe, the European Human Rights Body, the WHO face accusation that it exaggerated danger of the virus under pressure from drug companies. Even though thousands died world wide, the virus turned out to be milder than expected.The World Health Organisation has denied accusations that it exaggerated the Swine Flu pandemic under pressure from drug companies. WHO's leading flu expert KG Fakuda told a hearing at the Council of Europe that the response to last year's pandemic was not perfect but stressed the decision making was not improperly influenced by the pharmaceutical industry.
