Over 295 lakh hectare area have been brought under the cultivation of wheat across the country so far.Data released by Agriculture Ministry say, the acreage is 3.67 lakh hectare more than the corresponding period of last year.Higher acreage of wheat has been reported from Madhya Pradesh followed by Rajasthan and Jharkhand. Sowing of rice is also picking up in states of Tamilnadu and Odisha.The total area under rice cultivation is 17.64 lakh hectare against 19.27 lakh hectare during the corresponding period of last year. Pulses have been sown in over 145 lakh hectare.
