Wheat procurement by government agencies during current rabi marketing season has crossed the last year's mark. An official release issued by Food and Consumer affairs Ministry in New Delhi said, as on 13th of July this year around 281 lakh Tonnes wheat have been procured in various wheat growing states. This is nine Lakh tonnes higher than procurement last year on this date. Punjab was on the top followed by Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
