In Punjab, wheat crop in several areas was damaged in a squall last evening and this morning. In some areas fast wind flattened almost ready to reap wheat crop. Hailstorm is also reported from areas of Sangrur and Bathinda causing damage to crop. Government have asked the revenue authorities to assess the loss. Agricultural experts are of the view that harvesting may be delayed due to the recent rain.Meanwhile, the wheat lying in the grain markets also suffered damage.
