<span style="color: #222222;">Union Environment and Forests and Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javdekar has announced that the Western Ghats Development Scheme will be implemented only after thorough discussions with the concerned state governments.<br />''<br />'' Speaking to presspersons after inspecting the universally acclaimed Salim Ali Birds Observatory in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu today, he said that the participation of State Governments in the 2016 River Sand Mining Policy is being reviewed.<br />'' <br />'' He also called for a 15-year perspective plan for observatory and said that exotic varieties like falcon, eagle etc, which were on the verge of imminent extinction, had been saved by the efforts of the observatory.<br />''<br />''He pointed out that the number of tigers and elephants have increased, attesting to the improvement of the environment. Mr. Javdekar also called upon State Governments to increase availability of fodder and water in areas close to forests and thus bring incidence of man-animal conflicts under control.</span><br />
