Western and Central areas of the United States have been blanketed by snow, as winter storms spread across the entire length of the country. From New Mexico in the South to the Canadian border, major highways have been closed in parts of Colorado, Miami, Montana and Nevada. Air travel in several parts of the country has also been severely disrupted.
