West Indies win toss and elect to bat first against Pakistan

In the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup, West Indies have won the toss and have elected to bat first in their quarterfinal match against Pakistan at Mirpur, Dhaka. Pakistan have a slight psychological edge today as they had won five matches out of the six at the group stage while West Indies had lost three of their group games on their way to the knockout stage. However, with the must win game already on, none of the sides can afford to dwell too much in the past in order to stay and move ahead in the championship. While Pakistan would rely on their more experienced captain Shahid Afridi for an all round performance today, the West Indies need an as good all round display by Keiron Pollard, Chris Gayle and others who could hold the key for the Windies today. Winners of today's match will move into the semi-finals where they will meet the winning team of the next quarterfinal between India and Australia scheduled to be played at Ahmedabad tomorrow.
