West Indies beat New Zealand in the super over in the Group-I Super-8 match of the ICC World Cup T20 cricket tournament this evening. Earlier the match between the two ended in a tie. At the Pallekele International Stadium,Kandy,New Zealand won the toss and put the West Indians into bat who made 139 runs in 19.3 overs. Chasing the target of 140 the Kiwis also produced 139 in the alloted 20 overs, losing seven wickets. The super over had to be resorted to after the tie.Another match of the same group between England and Sri Lanka is in progress at the same venue. England won the toss and decided to field.
