West Indies were 157 for 3 against India in the first Cricket match of the three-Test series at the Feroze Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi. Electing to bat first, West Indies lost Kirk Edwards at 15 and Kieran Powell at 14 after a slow start. Spinner Pragyan Ojha dismissed Powell in twelfth over to give India an early break through after pacers kept Windies on check. Ojha struck again to put India on top early in the match as he dismissed Edwards to reduce west Indies to 45 for 2 in 23.3 overs
