West Bengal to intensify operation against Maoists

The West Bengal government has decided to intensify operation against Maoists after yesterday's brutal attack on securitymen. The State Home Secretary Mr Ardhendu Sen told in Kolkata today that there is no possibility of talks with Maoists at this juncture. <br/><br/>The State Chief Secretary Mr Ashok Mohan Chakraborty asserted that joint operation against maoists will continue and there is no question of role back it. AIR correspondent Arijit Chakraborty reports that the Union Home Ministry has sought report from the state government on the attack.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the state Director General of Police Mr Bhupinder Singh today visited Binpur police station area where Maoists attacked yesterday to have first hand information of the incident. Mr Singh admitted intelligence failure behind the entire episode. Security has been beefed up at Midnapur Jail where 100 under-trial hardcore Maoists have been lodged.
