West Bengal: Sacred soil & rice collected from households under Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">As part of the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign, sacred soil and rice were collected from the households across West Bengal in Amrit Kalash, which will be used for the creation of Amrit Vatika and Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav memorial at Kartavyapath, India Gate, New Delhi. To mark the occasion, a state-level function was organized at Kolkata Raj Bhavan today. The programme was officially launched by Governor CV Anand Bose, handing over an earthen pot, at the event organized jointly by the Border Security Force BSF and the Nehru Yuva Kendra. The 350 Kalash received from the various Development Blocks/ Urban Local Bodies of West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands will be sent to New Delhi via special train tomorrow. Altogether 300 volunteers along with 4 escorting officers from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) are participating in the yatra.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">Speaking on the occasion, CV Bose said, the 350 urns carrying soil from various districts in West Bengal will be taken to a place near the National War Memorial, where a "Amrit Vatika" will be developed soon.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The Governor mentioned, 'Meri Maati Mera Desh, Maati Ko Naman, Veeron Ka Vandan' is an initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen the spirit of unity in every part of the country as one strong nation.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The Governor said, India has different cultures, traditions, heritages, environments and habitations, but one thing is common for all, that is, the mitti.
