West Bengal has received six lakhs 89 thousand doses of COVID vaccine from Serum Institute, Pune and it is being distributed to the districts. AIR correspondent reports that after getting the first consignment of nearly seven lakh doses of Covishield vaccine yesterday, officials of the State Health Department are now gearing up for the first phase of immunization on 16th January. Required doses have already been dispatched to the districts. More than six lakh COVID Warriors and frontline workers have registered themselves for this drive.
