In West Bengal, the Out Patient Department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Kalyani in Nadia district has become functional from today. It started with 8 departments and is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of this year. AIR Correspondent reports that for setting up a 960 bed unit of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Kalyani, the centre had given approval in 2015 under Pradhan Mantri Swastha Suraksha Yojna. Initially a fund of twelve hundred crore rupees has been released for that purpose.<br />'' <br />''The hospital was built on a land of a little over 179 acres at Kalyani Basantapur in Nadia district of the state. It started the OPD services on a small scale from today, with 8 departments.
