<span style="color: #222222;">NDRF has saved lives of seven people in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal who were stuck at a Char land in Tista River. The boat carrying seven persons capsized in Tista River near Chengmari Village in Malbazar Block of Jalpaiguri district on Monday night. The incident took place when the boat was in mid-stream. All the victims managed to swim to safety and reached at a Char land in Tista River.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On intimation from local administration, a team of NDRF from its Regional Response Center unit at Jalpaiguri rushed to the spot even in the night. NDRF team responded promptly and rescued all seven stranded persons alive from the Char-land. NDRF said, in view of monsoon season, it has pre-positioned its rescue and relief teams across the country for prompt response to disasters or disaster like situations. All the teams are pre-positioned in the vulnerable locations and are in close touch with the local administration.</span><br />''
