West Bengal have won the Santosh Trophy for the 31st time. In the final of the 65th National Football Championship in Guwahati, the defending champions defeated Manipur by two goals to one. The scorers for the winners were Branko Vincent in the 17th minute and Budiram in the second minute of the second half. For Manipur, who lifted the title in 2002, Naba Chandra Singh netted in the 75th minute.
