West Bengal Govt to rectify its land acquisition policy

<br/>The West Bengal Government has announced rectification of its steps which have affected poor people and minorities in relation to land acquisition in the State. Addressing a public rally to celebrate completion of 33 years ruling of the Left Front Government in the State, the Chief Minister, Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharjee said this in Kolkata on Monday. <br/> <br/>Mr. Bhattacharjee said that poor people who have lost confidence on Left Front steps have to be taken to regain their support. The Chief Minister’s comment came ahead of Assembly Elections in the State which is due in next year. <br/> <br/>Criticising the opposition, Mr. Bhattacharjee said that the State has advanced in agriculture, industries, education and health sector in 33 years ruling of the Left Front Government. <br/> <br/>Speaking on the occasion, the Left Front Chairman, Mr. Biman Basu also stressed the need for regaining support of poor masses in rural Bengal which have been eroded from last Lok Sabha Elections in the State. <br/> <br/>AIR Kolkata Correspondent reports that the leaders of the front partners strongly advocated for greater left unity to take on challenges of opposition before Assembly elections in the State. <br/> <br/>It may be recalled that the Left Front Government was sworn in on this day in 1977 under the leadership of veteran communist leader, Jyoti Basu. The Front has created history in the coalition politics in the country by ruling the State for seven consecutive terms since 1977. <br/>
