West Bengal govt converts Kolkata Medical College & Hospital into full-fledged COVID hospital

<span style="color: #222222;">The West Bengal Government has decided to notify Calcutta Medical College and Hospital as full-fledged COVID hospital in the State. In a tweet, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told that to meet increasing need of treatment this hospital with 500 bed capacity will start functioning as COVID hospital from tomorrow. She said that number of bed will be increased later as per requirements. With this, 69 dedicated COVID hospitals are working in the state at present .<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, 265 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovery from Corona positive infection so far. Giving this information in Kolkata this afternoon, the State Home Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay said that another four persons were died of the infection in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 72. He said that fresh 112 persons were tested positive of Corona during the period while 1,047 such patients are under treatment at different hospitals in the state .<br />''<br />''The Opposition BJP showed demonstrations at different parts of the state today protesting against alleged corruption by ruling Trinamul Congress on Distribution of food items through Public Distribution System.</span><br />
