The West Bengal Government feels that the prices of rice, vegetable and other essential commodities are increasing because of illegal hoarding. State Chief Minister Mamata Benerjee has warned of stern steps against hoarders and black marketers. Banerjee visited the market in Sialdaha, the Kole Market and Lansdown Market on Saturday.After the visit she said that the rise in prices of vegetables and rice are not natural. Without mentioning anyone she blamed a section of the CPIM-linked hoarders and a section of black marketers and mill owners. Banerjee said that she will hold a meting on Monday next with whole-sellers to look into the increase in prices of vegetable and rice.
