The West Bengal government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the violence at the Basirhat Sub Division. Talking to reporters in Kolkata, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, the probe to be headed by a sitting Calcutta High Court judge is meant to find out as to who is behind the provocation which caused arson and stone pelting in the area. <br/><br/>The situation in the Sub-division is reported to be tense but under control. There is a thick blanket of security, with Police and central paramilitary forces patrolling the area.<br/><br/><br/>Meanwhile, the situation is tense in the Darjeeling hills as fresh violence erupted last evening. Sub-division and Block Development Offices were torched in Kurseong. Security forces are now in control of the situation. The Chief Minister has blamed the Opposition for the violence.<br/>

The West Bengal government has announced a judicial inquiry into the communal clashes at Baduria and Basirhat in the North 24 Parganas district triggered by a Facebook post. <br/><br/>State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters in Kolkata yesterday, that the probe would be headed by Retired Judge of Calcutta High Court. She said, that her Government will provide every input to the judicial commission. <br/><br/><br/>Ms. Banerjee also said action would be taken against two national-level television channels for showing fake videos and claiming them to be related to the clashes. The TMC supremo alleged that the video clips of an incident in Comilla, Bangladesh and a Bhojpuri film were being shown as if these incidents had taken place in Bengal and are being used to incite the people.<br/>
