The West Bengal government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the violence at the Basirhat Sub Division. Talking to reporters in Kolkata, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, the probe to be headed by a sitting Calcutta High Court judge is meant to find out as to who is behind the provocation which caused arson and stone pelting in the area.<br/><br/>The situation in the Sub-division is reported to be tense but under control. There is a thick blanket of security, with Police and central paramilitary forces patrolling the area.<br/><br/><br/>Meanwhile, the situation is tense in the Darjeeling hills as fresh violence erupted last evening. Sub-division and Block Development Offices were torched in Kurseong. Security forces are now in control of the situation. The Chief Minister has blamed the Opposition for the violence.<br/><br/>
