<span style="color: #222222;">The Election Commission has prohibited TMC MLA Narendranath Chakraborty from holding any public meetings, rallies, roadshows, and interviews for seven days for violation of the Model Code of Conduct in connection with the ongoing bye-election in West Bengal. During campaigning, the MLA had threatened BJP workers and asked his cadres to intimidate them. The Poll Body observed that the statement given by the MLA is a threatening voter to conduct peaceful, free, and fair elections and hence the statement has potential to interfere with free exercise of the electoral right of electors. The Commission prohibited him from holding any public meetings, rallies, roadshows, and interviews from today till 8 pm on 6th April.</span><br />
